the hive: what all the buzz is about

Unveiled in 2022, The Hive overlooks the House Reef and is the spot for socialising, relaxing, and masterminding your next dive or snorkel adventure. The space is light and airy, with a series of deep gables framing the 270 degree view over an archipelago of uninhabited islands.

The ground floor of The Hive is dedicated to diving and snorkeling. This is where we meet to don our wetsuits, collect our equipment, and head out to the jetty together. The space is equipped with rinse tanks, hot water showers, changing rooms, and everything else you need to prepare for the day’s activities. After your dive, relax in one of the sunny hammocks built into the outdoor decking.

The second floor is the spot to enjoy a quiet coffee on the terrace while watching the sun rise over the distant Daram Islands. The view over the House Reef is spectacular, and you’re sure to see sleek juvenile sharks, schools of parrotfish, lightning-fast bluefin trevally, and hunting octopus. There is a small library on the second floor stocked with marine life books to help you identify what you’ve seen on your last underwater adventure. The lounge is furnished with comfortable tables for editing photos at your laptop, as well as cozy reading nooks and sofas. We'll need to know well in advance if you'd like to book a course, hire equipment, or engage the services of a private guide. Please be advised that due to our extremely remote location and distance from the nearest recompression chamber, we dive very conservatively.
